High Carbon Copper Gold Ore Processing
Problem
The raw ore’s carbon content is as high as 2% to 4%, mainly in the form of micro-fine graphite. The flotation foam is viscous. The ore properties fluctuate greatly, leading to unstable mineral processing indices.
Technical Solution
We use Q80, an alternative frother to MIBC, to make the flotation foam fresh and improve separation. Our effective carbon depressant D485 outperforms Cytec’s, suppressing carbon and preventing it from competing with copper and gold deposits.
Final Effect
The copper concentrate grade has increased from 14% to over 20%. The copper recovery rate has jumped from 86% to 90.5%, while the gold recovery rate has risen from 55% to 60%. The flotation time has been reduced from 60 to 40 minutes, significantly lowering power costs.
